I was an Student Conservation Association intern through the US Fish and Wildlife Service for Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge. I worked at the Arctic Interagency Visitor Center in Coldfoot, Alaska where I answered questions for visitors, gave interpretive programs, and had the opportunity to have experiences which helped me learn more about the area to better help visitors. I also performed the duties of opening and closing the visitor center and using the cash register as well as general upkeep such as sweeping dirty floors, making sure the interpretive trails where clean, and keeping the desk and visitor center tidy. Every week I submitted a potential Facebook post to my supervisor for the Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge Facebook page.
