Megan Pohlmann PhD, RN, CPN

I am a neurodivergent nurse, studying neurodivergent nurse experiences. I am also interested in open discussion surrounding neurodivergent feelings of empowerment, missed and late diagnosis, and how the neurodivergent experience impacts one's personal wellbeing. I am also passionate about participatory research, representation and leadership within marginalized populations!The majority of my bedside experience comes from a Level 1 trauma center and Magnet designated children’s hospital. I have a strong background as a float pool specialty nurse including EU and ICU areas. This and my background as a hospital resource nurse testifies to my flexibility, while my experience as administrative supervisor demonstrates my leadership and rapport with fellow medical professionals. I educate nurses at a variety of levels including pre-licensure and experienced RNs. I also enjoy representing the field of nursing as a consultant in television production and public speaking engagements, as well as teaching in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings. My recent dissertation work demonstrates the many strengths and challenges faced by neurodivergent nurses, and I'm looking forward to what the future holds for all of us related to these themes.
