Medias Kukunda

I provide technical leadership for value chain development across Uganda, driving farmer support and market linkages in collaboration with National and International stakeholders, Agribusinesses, MAAIF, and District Local Governments. I design and implement farmer programs integrating Global GAP standards, EUDR Compliance, UgoCert, ISO, climate‑smart and regenerative practices, and digital advisory tools. I lead capacity‑building for farmer groups and cooperatives; coordinate multi‑stakeholder platforms to expand market access; promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods; champion youth and women’s participation in agribusiness; and spearhead the national avocado campaign with partners such as Hortifresh, Musubi Farms, Greater Masaka Avocado Cooperative, Busoga Avocado Farmer Association, and regional media outreach.

Delivered a nationwide impact study on international programs for rural Ugandan women in partnership with UNFFE and UNYFA, focusing on women’s leadership and advocacy in agriculture. I coordinated fieldwork, digital tool development, and stakeholder engagement, conducted data collection and analysis, and advised on sustainable, women‑led community interventions and transfer projects.

Oversee project implementation and assess its impact

Conducted comprehensive assessments and data-driven evaluations of agricultural projects to enhance impact and ensure alignment with organizational and stakeholder/development partner goals goals.

Managed the monitoring and evaluation framework for national agricultural programs, ensuring accurate tracking of project outcomes and facilitating informed decision-making.
