As a Bridge officer I was in charge of the Safety of the vessel and navigation, I also worked along the Chief Mate with ISM, ISPS, MLC matters and supervising and working along the deck team for the maintenance onboard. Alucia holds two submersibles so launching and recovering operations was an everyday job, on the bridge watch I was solely responsible for the vessel maneuver while these operations were carried out, on deck I would support the Sub dive team in launching and recovering maneuvers from deck, zodiac or tenders. Alucia carried a Northwind, 32 ft tender H-RIB aluminum hull (Jet) and an Intrepid, 40 ft tender mainly for guests use. Helicopter operations were carried out as well, because of this frequent use I have gained great experience as Helicopter Landing Officer. Scuba diving operations were also a frequent activity during Owner and Guests charters as well as Science operations, where I supported from the tender on recovery operations or in the water.

Paloma is classic yacht which required lots of maintenance, although my time here was short due to joining Alucia, I helped the vessel reorganize their navigation area and provided safety training to the crew.

I started onboard the Hanse Explorer as 3rd officer and was quickly promoted to 2nd officer. Working on this vessel gave me great experience and knowledge in ice navigation. I gained confidence in maneuvering in restricted waters as well as zodiac driving in extreme conditions, approaching wilderness and beach landings in different situations, always maintaining the safety of our guests and crew as our main priority.

I started my career on the tanker fleet of Harren & Partner group, based in Bremen, first starting as a Deck cadet on board M/T Patea where I learned all the basics of being a merchant mariner, as well as cargo operations and watchkeeping in congested areas such as the English Channel, North Sea, and Baltic areas. After receiving my OOW license I was promoted to 3rd officer and went onboard M/T Patani, where I worked helping the 2nd officer on Safety matters and the Chief officer in cargo operations, as well as maintaining my navigational watch. After a short time on M/T Patani I was sent onboard M/Y Hanse Explorer, the Owner’s private yacht.
