* Undertook wide-ranging ecological restoration efforts in Puget Sound area forests and parks. * Employed innovative invasive species control techniques including herbicide application.

* Prepared materials for the assessment of deforestation and development patterns for the Central African Forests and Institution Project, an interdisciplinary, multi-year undertaking. * Utilized ArcGIS and ERDAS Imagine to analyze LANDSAT satellite images chronicling development patterns in rural central Africa.

* Worked in collaboration with the US Forest Service, Nevada State Parks, California State Parks and private entities to develop and maintain public use areas in the Lake Tahoe basin. * Assisted in the execution of trail construction efforts and led volunteer crews on weekly projects. * Led and supported trail use programs, including winter camping courses, overnight backpacking, crew leader training, guide training, and Wilderness First Aid training. * Developed trail maps and brochures for distribution to the public.

* Directed weekly volunteer forest restoration efforts in Seattle area parks, providing guidance and education while ensuring a safe environment in which to work. * Recruited and retained a volunteer base of over one thousand individuals and organizations. * Developed resources to streamline restoration efforts using GIS technologies. * Coordinated with various private and public entities on Green Seattle Partnership projects.

* Engaged the public on behalf of King County Metro at a variety open houses and meetings, collaborating with transit users to develop equitable, effective service modifications. * Executed research and data gathering resulting in the improvement of King County Metro's system in regard to performance and equitability measures. * Developed maps and graphics for various Metro documents, including but not limited to the King County Metro Long Range Transit Plan, the 2016 U-Link Metro Service Change, and the September 2015 Metro Service Change package. * Provided consistent, daily support to the Service Planning division, including communications and research, network ridership/performance data and policy analysis, and project coordination and management. * Created public service announcements for dissemination to over 55,000 social media followers.

The primary objective of the Master of Urban Planning program is to educate professional planners with a broad range of competence in planning and design; a second is to provide opportunities for individual studies in selected professional areas. All students are required to complete a core curriculum of essential knowledge in urban planning, design, and development covering history, contexts of design and planning, and theory; analytical methods; processes of planning and implementation; communication skills; current issues; research methods; and studio experiences.
