Quantum computing has the potential to bring unprecedented problem-solving power to medicine, energy, and other sectors at the center of society’s most pressing challenges. As CEO of Quobly, France-based quantum startup founded in 2022, I am leading efforts to bring an operable quantum processor based on a major advance—the silicon spin qubit—to the market rapidly. How? By harnessing the capabilities of Europe’s existing semiconductor fabs. They already know how to fabricate millions of identical transistors. What makes Quobly unique is that we can now apply the same scalability to qubits. My h-index is 57, I have authored around 300 papers, own more than 80 patents, and am a regular speaker at semiconductor-industry conferences. I returned to CEA-Leti from 2013 to 2019 to run the advanced CMOS integration team, driving innovation and navigating the intricacies of next-generation CMOS technology. Quantum computing was within the scope of this position. It was there that I met future Quobly cofounder Tristan Meunier in 2016. Together with Silvano De Franceschi, we won a prestigious ERC Synergy Grant to get past the scientific hurdles on the path to silicon-based large-scale quantum computing.
