Matthew Cooke

I’m a senior communications and marketing leader with more than a decade shaping global strategy for McKinsey’s Financial Services practices, and twenty years of experience supporting leaders across government, media, and the social sector. My work focuses on bringing clarity to complex environments: aligning senior stakeholders, guiding teams through demanding periods, and building communications programmes that support real-world impact. I care about culture, structure, and the systems that help people do their best work - whether in global financial institutions, high-growth organisations, or mission-driven boards. Over the years I’ve led international campaigns, advised senior partners and C-suite leaders, built and rebuilt teams, overseen moments of organisational transition, and steered large-scale content and research launches. My earlier career in public service and governance still shapes how I think today: evidence-based, people-centred, and pragmatic. I’m motivated by roles where strategy, storytelling, and leadership come together; and by organisations that value quality, clarity, and humanity in equal measure.
