VP of Solutions & Co-founder @ Clockwork (EV Reliability)
About
My passion is about building great products and services that are valuable for the customers. I have strong T-shaped skills and an entrepreneurial way of working that help company's growth. Thanks to my education, I can develop concrete and effective go-to-market strategies aligned with the vision while guiding the developers and engineers in very deep technical discussions. Education is another professional hobby and over my career, I often play the role of mentors within an organization. I worked with SAE International to train future engineers in the EV Industry to teach knowledge of OCPP, OCPI, ISO15118, V2G, PKI, J3400, OpenADR and other transport electrification related topics. You may hear me say that the way a product is built reflects how a company is structured, hence I often spent time reflecting on how to best make teams work efficiently for them to take the best decisions.

Director of Technology
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
After developing the technology scouting processes of the organization, I am now leading the Technology Group to spearhead our internal technological expertise. The goal of the department is to reduce risk of integrating new technologies such as bidirectional charging, Vehicle-Grid Integration such as Demand Response, wireless charging, battery storage, and many others. I have hired great talents to accelerate the competitive advantages of FLO.

Senior Technical Advisor
Vancouver
My role has been to drive cultural and technical changes within the organization as the EV Industry is maturing and leaving the early adopter zone. - I drove the transition from proprietary ecosystem to an open and interoperable one with the adoption of OCPP and OCPI as the only operating protocols. This led to reduction of code maintenance, the development of a new platform to eliminate tech debt, faciliate the integration of new partners, and enabled FLO to offer new power levels from third party hardware. - I led the strategy of Plug and Charge experience leading to the implementation of AutoCharge with GM vehicles and partnership with Hubject to provide PKI services for ISO 15118. - I drove the reorganization of the company in CPO and eMSP businesses to support scalability of FLO's vertical product offering. - I developed the strategy of technology scouting and represented FLO across most EV Charging organizations such as CharIN, Open Charge Alliance, EV Roaming Foundation, Society of Automotive Engineers, CSA, OpenADR, VGIC, Alliance of Transport Electrication, ChargeX, and others.

Director of Electrification - Co-founder
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
With Hoa Cleantech, I built a team with the mission to deliver economical solutions to drive industry's transition towards decarbonized and zero-waste operations. I built the business during the weirdest time, i.e. the Covid crisis and secure contracts from municipalities and private companies to deliver carbon impactful projects. We delivered roadmap to achieve carbon neutrality within 10 years with and without additional capex.

Technical Lead - Co-founder

I helped kickstart 7 Gen with a great team of co-founders and experienced leaders to remove the biggest barriers to electrification for medium and heavy-duty commercial fleets. We provide simple and affordable EV and charging infrastructure leasing solutions to achieve zero-emission transportation. - I secured the first customer to deliver the first electrical refuse truck in Quebec. - We built the team to deliver the first electric last mile delivery solution to Bolt EV. The key for this success was to bundle a turnkey solution from vehicle to infrastructure through financing package to deliver a fixed and predictable operating cashflow. This early project led to the successful funding round to launch the company.

Electrical and Software Engineer

I worked in two departments; the Power System software developing the DSATools and the Transportation developing EV Charging. - I provided consulting services for EV Infrastructure deployment for municipalities, workplace and fleet vehicles. - I project manage the deployment of NRCan ZEVIP funded DCFC Infrastructure in British Columbia with 40 new locations. - I built and operated the first Demand Response program with EVs for BC Hydro. - I led the expertise and certifications of OCPP, OCPI, and OpenADR for the laboratory. - I improved and extended DSATools Engine for voltage security, powerflow and short circuit assessment. - I built the node-breaker capability of the DSATools systems.

My goal was to extend and improve product lines to support retail real estate management companies operates their thousand of stores across Europe. As a SaaS company: - I extended the product diversity by 75% with the development of three new commercial modules. - I designed custom third party integration and broadly opended the SaaS with API. - I integrated the application with SAP-REFX via the .Net Connector to automate rent accounting. In this role, I developed my product manager skills and my programming skills. As RetailDrive was a startup, I was able to wear many hats and learned MVC .Net, jQuery, AngularJS, C#, Transact SQL, etc. I was evolving in a stressful environment with rapid deadlines for the customers while having to quickly learn new technologies. This helped me understand the value of Agile development and lean methodology.

- Built a simulator for fault location algorithm performance evaluation in distribution power systems. - Educated Siemens customers in understanding fault location techniques for their network. - Generated benchmarks of fault location algorithms. In this role, I have sharpen my technical skills with numerical analysis, development of Newtown-Raphson models, load flow computation, linearization of non-linear systems, and implementation of fault location algorithms.

Research Engineer
Brussels, Brussels Region, Belgium
- Patented two fault detection algorithms in compensated distribution power systems, currently used by Siemens. - Developed test cases and electrical transient signals for fault protection quality assurance. - Conference presentations across North America and Europe. - Teaching of power system and power flow as seminars assistants.
