Charles M.
Technical Audio Designer @ Gameloft Montreal
About
I am a programmer and sound designer focusing on game audio after twenty years working on various forms of music and sound art: performing in clubs as DJ/producer, teaching, setting up interactive installations, linking sound and light, developing software + plugins with a focus on accessibility. These days I am mostly working on in-game audio solutions alongside developing audio plugins in C++. I have experience of various pipelines and production cycles, and am available for sound design, implementation, and music system design work. I currently spend the majority of time working in Unreal Engine, which I also use to make procedural music to unwind — posting weekly videos here — but also comfortable with Unity and Wwise. As a programmer, my approach is grounded in solving real-world problems under pressure. While the majority of my project experience has been in developing music technology, I am equally at home with a wide array of software development and enjoy tackling creative challenges! For the past ten years, I have primarily worked with charities and non-profits, focusing on accessibility and music technology.
