As a director on the Steering Committee of the Student Foundation, I served alongside of 26 additional directors leading nearly 300 general members throughout the year while planning, constructing, and carrying out various philanthropic activities guided at raising money for the university as well as its students. Our biggest event is the production of The Little 500 bike race that has been a lasting tradition for the past 65 years. The race is the nation's largest collegiate intramural event that donates all of the proceeds to working student scholarships. Throughout the year I led subcommittees composed of general members in weekly meetings throughout the semester that fostered skills in public speaking, leadership, and organizational planning.
