• Researched various forms of Time Domain and Frequency Domain Reflectometry to detect interruptions in the elevator door safety chain • Designed, developed and tested a Spread Spectrum Time Domain reflectometer to determine the location of a change of impedance in the elevator door safety chain • Designed and modeled the system using a combination of MATLAB and LTSpice to determine the Spread Spectrum Time Domain Reflectometers functionality • Determined that the use of a time domain reflectometer for open contact detecting in the elevator door safety chain was a viable and improved replacement for the current method
