Led growth / partnership initiatives for Kawa’s digital platform for alternative investments. In 2019, our team raised over $400M for new investments via the firm’s mobile app and online portals, bringing total AUM to $1.5 billion.

Founded and launched the first automated investment advisor for Latin America. Raised $5.1M in equity capital from VC and angel investors. Led 15 person team of engineers, product, operations and marketing professionals. Designed mobile investment app with more than 250K downloads. Created proprietary trading algorithms and defined portfolio construction rules for SEC registered investment advisor with more than 40K individual clients across North and South America.

Chief market maker and proprietary trader for FX and IRS in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Argentina. Chief market maker for Mexico interest rate swaps business. Expanded bank’s participation in Chile’s inflation swap market. Negotiated new trading partnerships with top banks in Colombia, Chile and Peru, expanding Nomura’s access to liquidity and leading to an increase in the bank’s overall volumes.

Portfolio manager at $2 Bn hedge fund focused on emerging markets macro strategies. Primary focus on interest rate swap markets in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Poland, Hungary and South Africa.

Established fixed income trading business in Santiago, Chile. Traded interest rate swaps, local bonds and FX (spot, forward and NDF’s). Managed both proprietary positions and client flow orders.

Chief market maker and proprietary trader for currencies and interest rates swaps in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Argentina. Structured, launched and managed SPV based in Colombia to trade onshore fixed income markets. Presented business plan to internal treasury committee and successfully raised $25M in capital to launch Lehman Brothers de Colombia. Negotiated and established new trading partnerships with 4 of the largest banks in Colombia, 3 banks in Chile and 2 banks in Peru to expand the business’ available pool of liquidity.

Structured, launched and raised capital for private equity funds in Mexico, Peru, Argentina, and Ecuador. Provided technical assistance in deal sourcing, analysis and execution of investments. Led new programs and fundraising for this NGO backed by the Rockefeller Foundation, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and IADB.

Debt Capital Markets Analyst — Syndicate & Tech / Telecom Coverage Group. Member of team that lead-managed more than $50 billion in bond issuance for the largest European telecom companies, including Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom and Telefonica.
