Dr. Matthew E. L. Jungwirth is the Director of Technical Content and Scientific Publishing at SPIE and an SPIE Fellow. He earned his PhD from the University of Arizona under Prof. Eustace Dereniak studying adaptive optical zoom using deformable carbon fiber mirrors. He has 25 patents and 16 publications covering a diverse array of topics such as barcode sensing, quantum information processing, structured light illumination, and real-time alignment techniques. He has 6 years of editorial experience in both books and journals that lead him to his current role at SPIE.
