* Patrol backcountry areas in the Red River Gorge, which includes prolonged periods of standing and hiking over moderate to difficult terrain, in all types of weather * Made visitor contacts to inform guests of Leave no Trace, Forest rules and regulations, and to answer any questions * Helped rehabilitate trails and campsites that were impacted by heavy recreational use, which includes using tools such a Pulaskis, Mcleods, shovels, handsaws, etc. Removed fire rings at illegal campsites, and frequently collected trash along trails and campsites * Monitor visitor use through personal observations, and recorded use and work tasks in a daily log * Assisted Forest botanist with removal of non native invasive species (NNIS), and transplanting natives to new areas to promote growth and control erosion * Assisted with activities and projects that promoted community involvement (teaching others how to construct bluebird boxes, and explaining why, assisting with a fishing derby, etc) * Helped staff a visitor center, answering questions both in person and through the phone

Worked under general supervision in a fast paced environment preparing online, phone and mail order requests for shipping. Responsible for correctly packaging and preparing items for shipping, sometimes an excess of 20+ items in a single order. Work was continuously monitored by scanners and computers to ensure quickness, but I was personally responsible for the accuracy of each package.

Worked independently or under general supervision to perform weekly field maintenance of city pump stations, public parks, schools and high volume areas by mowing, weed whacking, weeding, edging, mulching, etc. Experienced with riding mowers, tractors, larger trucks and towing trailers. Worked independently to redesign a trail system that had severe drainage and water flow issues. Crafted multiple possible treatment plans that were tailored to this specific location and was in the confines of the goals and mission of the land trust. Each suggestion was priced out accordingly to stay within the Land Trusts's budget.

Responsible for weekly maintenance of city water pump stations, athletic fields, and town parks. Duties include mowing, weed whacking, and other site maintenance in compliance with department standards.
