About
Things I believe in: Thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, the power of computational modeling, and the ability of the biotech industry to improve health and lessen human suffering. Trained as a physical and computational chemist at Stanford, MIT, Oxford, and Columbia. Twenty-year academic career at UCSF including several leadership roles. Along the way, co-founded 6 biotech companies, 4 of which have reached clinical-stage, and fell in love with drug discovery.
