Co-founded New Roots EB-5 Fund and transformed it from a capital-raising vehicle into a vertically integrated private equity real estate development firm. The pivot happened the way most of my best decisions happen: I looked at the org chart of a general contractor we were in litigation with, realized the value wasn't in the entity but in two people — a construction manager and a senior superintendent who had delivered every successful project the firm had completed. I recruited both. Then I recruited a developer and a CFO. Within six months we had an operating platform that builds the projects it finances, not just a fund that writes checks and waits. First project: raised $17.5M, delivered 60 homes in Granbury, Texas. Current project: developing 388 acres in Austin, Texas — a $140M land development deal producing 1,800 lots over 10 years, with additional upside if we go vertical. We create strategic partnerships with international business owners to channel foreign capital into U.S. investments that create American jobs.
