In addition to my Stakeholder Relations responsibilities, I lead a small, talented and motivated team accountable and responsible for: • Volunteer recruitment and engagement; • Corporate engagement; • Reputation management; • Print, digital and social media platforms; • Corporate (internal) communications; • Government relations; • Advocacy; • Stakeholder relations; • Affinity programs; • External relations; and, • Opportunities for ASET members’ CPD.

Work collaboratively with government, professional organizations, industry, and other stakeholders to ensure they recognize and support ASET designations and have implemented career pathways. Advocate on behalf of members to expand or achieve recognition of their practice rights and qualifications, both nationally and provincially. Ensure ASET is a full partner and plays an active role in the review and redraft of the Engineering and Geosciences Professions Act. Pursue opportunities to reflect the legislation that identifies technology professionals as qualified practitioners in statutes, regulations, codes, and standards. Communicate advocacy efforts on policy and legislative decisions regularly with others on the management team.

Lead official, primary contact and advisor for the Cabinet Minsters of Culture and Community Spirit, Health and Wellness, Housing and Urban Affairs, Solicitor General and Public Security, Energy, and Justice and Solicitor General.

Responsible for 43 volunteer constituency associations and MLAs (all ridings north of Red Deer) with governance, outreach, fundraising, restructuring and election readiness. Conducted reviews of financial statements and ensured filing deadlines and disclosure provisions were met as stipulated in legislation.
