JCB Purchasing Manager Compact Products Reporting to the Cluster Manager the role is accountable for supplier performance in respect of Quality, Cost, Delivery and New Product Introduction to ensure that the business unit components are sourced at the ‘Lowest Total Cost of Acquisition’ globally. · To be responsible for approving new supplier additions and ensuring that JCB minimum requirements are met i.e. the application of JCB supplier assessment, financial health check, relevant TS or ISO quality standard, etc. · Ensure that the appropriate level of commercial leverage is applied in support of achieving JCB require PPM standards. · Attend the weekly monthly and Quarterly business unit Service reviews and resolve supplier Warranty /PPM issues as they arise. Ensure that the Global Category Buyers attend if required, and are accountable for resolving the supplier issues under their control. · Deliver the budgeted cost reduction targets for the Business Unit. · Work with the BU teams to apply their resources to implement cost down ideas generated by the VA/VE activity/global sourcing opportunities. Delivery · To ensure that the appropriate ‘Supply Chain’ is established for all new components. · Continue to monitor Supplier financial Health and ensure that those suppliers shown as a risk are closely monitored, exited or that there are contingency plans in place to ensure continuity in the event that they get into Financial difficulties. · Establish LTA with suppliers that are in a monopolistic or single source Strategic Category. · Provide the necessary motivation, leadership, training and support for your team. · For Global Platforms, work with JCB International teams to agree and nominate suppliers. · Operate as part of the Senior Management team of the BU · Work with the wider Purchasing team to ensure that the Category strategy is supported across all the UK Business Units.
