Magellan Power is an Australian grown designer and manufacturer of advanced AC and DC Power Systems and Energy Storage equipment based in Perth, Western Australia. Masoud Abshar is the founder and CEO of Magellan Power for the past 23 years. He has a Master degree in Power Electronics and over 32 years experience in the design and manufacture of power converters and Uninterruptible Power Supplies. Magellan Power specialises in the research and development, design and manufacture of customised industrial back-up power systems and energy storage equipment. The company has supplied in excess of 10,000 power converters and power back up equipment to some of Australia’s biggest projects and clients including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Metals and all of Australia’s electrical utilities including Ergon Energy, Transgrid, Energex, Essential Energy, Hydro Tasmania, and Western Power. For the past decade Masoud and his Research and Development team at Magellan Power have been working on innovative renewable energy systems which have garnered national government and industry attention.
