During a 6 month rotation through the GSK Boronia sites scheduling team I refined an understanding of the end to end supply chain in the manufacturing environment. From managing product tenders end to end (raw components to shipment and receipt), through to scheduling production plans across key capacity constrained assets, I have been able to build a ground up supply chain knowledge.

As an Engineer in the Global Strategy and Design team at GSK's head office in the United Kingdom I was responsible for evaluating strategic initiatives in the global manufacturing and supply (GMS) and research and development (R&D) networks including: -new technologies -feasibility studies -process development The team I worked in partnered with the architecture firm BrydenWood. This partnership encourages a cross functional team to develop and realize problem solutions through visualization and modeling before progressing into production.

My work experience at GlaxoSmithKline’s Port Fairy site provided me with exposure to new product introduction and process development. During my 5 month internship at the site I was based in the Technical Development team, where I lead a project developing a pilot continuous crystallization process while also supporting the commissioning of a capacity expansion project. My work focusing on continuous crystallization saw me research and develop on pilot scale 3 continuous crystallization reactor systems to showcase to suitability of continuous processing in an industry dominated by batch wise, inefficient, processing methods. Through laboratory analysis and modeling I was able to prove my systems delivered: -greater product selectivity -lowered reactant use -reduced reactor volumes -lowered capital cost

* My role as a First Line Leader saw me managing day to day operations of several of the Boronia sites key packaging lines with my work focusing on: * driving team capability development * leveraging engineering expertise to deliver continuous improvement projects * championing culture development * achieving excellence in quality deliverables * reducing production overheads * delivering key initiatives to maximize production output and efficiency

* My role as a production engineer saw me responsible for leading and delivering safety, productivity and efficiency based improvement projects. * Some of my work has included the introduction of new quality control vision systems, the introduction and qualification of new primary packaging components and the implementation of a site wide process valve upgrade projects. * Some of the key strengths I exhibited throughout this role included: * strong stakeholder engagement * excellent quality impact awareness * strong commitment to delivering on time and on budget * an appetite for success
