My number one focus is on being a leader on the floor from a safety, quality, and process side. Being a resource for employees on the floor to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise. Another area of focus is on developing and executing cost take out projects to improve the plant metrics. Projects include OEE improvements, supporting material changes for smooth transitions, and quality improvement projects to reduce waste. Support new customer on-board projects by assisting R&D to help ensure successful production. Support customer complaints by investigating, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent issues from reoccurring.

Manage capital and organic cost savings projects using lean manufacturing and six-sigma to achieve cost savings goal for Fine Paper. Analyze machine data to utilize in developing lean manufacturing cost savings projects for the pipeline. Develop standard operating procedures and conduct operator training for new equipment to ensure projects continued success. Coordinate new process dyes and fixatives by using design of experiments and machine trials to verify improved results with new products. Ensure workplace safety by performing incident investigations, zone audits, and operator safety discussions. Implement safety changes and install safety systems to ensure continued plant safety. Trained as back-up for the Technical Manager to develop quality standards for new grades, create bill of materials, and upload new grades into quality system. Manager of pulp and broke for the mill. Developed and implemented a new lean manufacturing strategy to increase broke usage to reduce cost of manufacturing.

Increased the speed on bag machine and performed quality testing to verify consistent quality. Implemented a new patch using an internal product. Worked on decreasing downtime on printing machine by implementing a flying splice. Developed a machine set-up checklist.
