I brought together city leaders and community leaders to create a communication system to discuss the livability and sustainability around the East Link Rail system being built on the Eastside of Seattle over the next ten years. I served as a liaison between community members, community organizations, the private sector, and city officials to ensure that elected officials and city management were aware of neighborhood and private sector needs and concerns regarding the development of the East Link Rail project. I provided outreach and support to neighborhood-based community groups, especially to under-represented and underserved groups, to assure their awareness and participation in the development of the rail stations was heard by transit and city officials. Coordinated logistics for education classes with Programs Director which included organizing facilities and managing all event details.

Managed the warehouse operations with a weekly clothing drive and hard goods distribution. And managed over a 100 volunteers a month to sort and organize clothing for children’s clothing bags. Received product shipments, and maintained an organized environment. Developed a volunteer recognition plan. And accountable for creating and managing over 40 Community Drives. Worked with 45 social service agencies to provide clothing and hard goods for children including 10 area food banks.

Responsible for evaluating and developing the funding, marketing strategies and tactics to transition SCAN from a public access television station to a community media station. Responsible for an annual administrative budget of $1,000,000. Developed a marketing strategy beginning with a branding process, market research surveys and website development. Launched a new television season and advertising campaign to promote the new season. Implemented a new Fundraising model Established several community partnerships and developed a community advisory board. Managed and supervised a team in marketing, volunteer coordination, youth programming and video production.

Tour Guide at the Future of Flight. Conducted three 90 minute tours at the Boeing Factory located in Everett, WA. I was a contractor for the summer busy season.

* GIRL SCOUTS OF WESTERN WASHINGTON, Bellevue, WA * Community Development Director * Directed and managed all aspects of girl and volunteer recruitment for Girl Scouts of Western Washington in King County and was responsible for ensuring the implementation of an integrated recruitment and membership strategy. * By achieving an effective recruitment strategy we consistently reached our quarterly benchmarks for membership goals. Four Community Development Managers assisted in achieving these goals. * Also responsible to recruit, interview, hire, provide training and development as appropriate, evaluate, counsel, provided conflict management and discipline as needed. Supported staff retention and professional growth. * Utilized effective marketing tools and advertising strategies for recruiting girls and volunteers. * Assisted in identifying and establishing community partnerships to promote volunteer recruitment including Alumni events. * Served on Equity team task force to begin work on serving underserved populations.

Activities and Societies: I was one of 28 Fellows from all over the world immersed in the world of intercultural relations. It was a unique opportunity to explore intercultural team development and personal leadership. Our fellows group ranged in age from 21 to 60 and came from dozens of different cultures and professions. It was also an opportunity to spend time with seasoned Intercultural faculty and deepen the conversation around Intercultural communications and Corporate Tribalism.
