My work focused on unravelling the role of an inflammatory cytokine in the development of liver fibrosis

My work was aimed at better understanding the effect of the invariant chain (Ii) chaperon on the trafficking of MHC class II molecules. I’ve shed some light on the stoichiometry of MHCII/Ii complex and characterized MHCII trafficking in the context of the different humain Ii isoforms (p33/p35). Moreover I’ve studied the effect of Ii trimerization motifs on the MHCII/Ii complex formation.

I’ve designed a project for an undergrad student. Supervised and taught her the basis of laboratory work.

I’ve supervised and taught immunology techniques to second year and third year undergrad students. I’ve showed them the basis of working with a mouse model creating and characterizing an immune response. Moreover I’ve established a protocol to produce monoclonal antibodies which was used to oversee undergrads laboratory work.

I’ve supervised and taught microbiology techniques to undergrad students

My research activities were focused on the cell biology of protein transport across the intestinal mucosa to reach the blood. The main approach of the research consisted in molecular morphology using innovative techniques in high resolution electron microscopy.

I was in charge of buying common and uncommon products as well as equipment for the laboratory’s benefit. I was also responsible for keeping track of the different project accounts and credit cards conciliation.
