Experienced Statistical Consultant, supporting statistics in the developing world for 30 years, both as a long term technical adviser and short term expert. 13 years of project management experience supporting statistical capacity development and modernisation in low and medium-income countries. Recently drafted a paper reviewing National Statistical System assessment tools for PARIS21. Worked with an international expert group (EGRIS) in drafting of International Recommendations on Refugee Statistics due for consideration by the UN Statistics Commission in March 2018. I was the first member of the PARIS21 Secretariat and was instrumental in setting it up in 2000. Previously had over 10 years of experience working with DFID supporting national statistical development. Managed and worked on several evaluations of international support to statistical capacity worldwide, including a UN Sector Wide Evaluation of UN support to data and analysis, a sector wide evaluation of support to statistics as part of the evaluation of the Paris Declaration, and several project evaluations.
