My key duties and responsibilities incl. the following: Communication: acting as the focus for all communications relating to designated projects and providing technical and professional advice.. Developing appropriate procurement and programme strategies, procuring, advising and recommending an appropriate consultant team and works contractors. Leading multi-disciplinary teams of consultants. Generating the customer brief & defining the requirements of a project. Organising and prioritising work load to deliver projects and programmes to agreed time, cost and quality standards. Ensure maintenance issues and whole life cost analysis are taken into account during the design process. Driving forward and monitoring the progress of a project, supervising service providers and managing budgets and accounts. Pursuing the post-completion requirements of a customer, incl. a post completion review. Acting as a bursar for designated projects and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations. Orchestrating and managing the commissioning and occupation of a completed project. Applying construction contract law, programming, directing and monitoring construction activities. Reporting project process through the RIBA plan of works to internal management and external funders. Ensuring projects are administered to comply with funding agency requirements and departmental protocols. Managing a select team of in house project managers. Managing Contractor and Consultant frameworks and encouraging collaborative relationships that add value.

Facilities Manager responsible for all construction projects including Planning Supervisor (CDMC) duties I was also responsible for grounds and airfield maintenance, managing the MTC Contractors for RAF bases including Coltisall, Neatishead and Honington. Initially responsible for the small works building department and the facilities management and maintenance of c. 100 buildings across 3 RAF bases.

• Meeting with clients and helping to win building contracts. • Putting together estimates, including budgets and timescales. • Preparing and presenting documents for tenders. • Contributing to work planning, and briefing project teams, contractors and suppliers. • Agreeing any additional work to be done within set timescales. • Gathering all information together for invoicing and valuations. • Monitoring project schedules and budgets. • Supplying information to resolve disputes if they arise. • Identifying areas for improvement in existing contracting processes.
