Supervision of the Medical affairs department oncology/hematology. Medical expert in oncology/hematology for the departments : marketing/sales, regulatory affairs, price and reimbursement, clinical development, safety. Author of medical parts of reimbursement files for oncology/hematology products. Development and supervision of clinical studies phase IIIb and IV and grant studies in the domain of oncology/hematology in close collaboration with the European Medical Affairs Headquarter.

Management responsibility for regions Brabant and Limburg. General management.

Ensure medical aspects of the registration activities. Member of the registration/price/reimbursement management team.

Clinical research in different disease areas : cardiology, urology, pneumology. Responsible for the local phase IV clinical research program in the Belgian subsidiary and management of the local CR-team. Participation in international phase IIB and phase III clinical studies. Belgian representative in the MSD "European Clinical Research Working Group"

Specialisation in internal medicine. Working in different wards of internal medicine, coronory care, intensive care and emergency units. Recognition as specialist in internal medicine in 1988.

Supervision of the Medical Services Department. Medical-legal responsible for publicity concerning human health products in Belgium and Luxembourg (official recognition number 518). Review and approval of all promotional materials/marketing projects, this in close collaboration with US HQ and local legal department. Supervision of the Medical Information activities: provision of information to customers within and outside the company. Writing review papers and proposals for reimbursement in collaboration with the public affairs department; assisting the legal department in litigations; giving presentations to opinion leaders.

Link between the Clinical Research Department UK and the Belgian subsidiary. Setting up, organisation and follow-up of clinical studies in collaboration with UK HQ. Very diverse medical support to the Belgian subsidiary e.g. in negotiations on acquisitions of new products, training sales force etc

Management responsibility for the safety departments for Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Regional Safety Liaison function from 2009 until 2013 : Amgen liaison responsibility for vendor handling Safety in Middle East and South-Africa. Recognition as local Qualified Person Pharmacovigilance (number P391)
