Heard that this lovely quaint little country hotel in Port Alfred where my holiday house is was for sale. My wife and I did the deal in April and decided the hotel was in much need of restoration. It was built in 1924 and accommodated the Prince of Wales during his visit to South Africa in 1925. We closed down on the 17 June 2013 and started the process of renovating. When finished the hotel will have 60 rooms as opposed to the 13 it used to have, with two state of the art kitchens, deli, restaurant, function venue for up to 150 guests, spa, multi purpose studio, kiddies room and don't forget the well known Highlander Pub. All going well the Pub will open during March and the hotel during July 2015.

As Murray & Roberts changed their strategy to invest in intellectual capital and not capital intensive companies it became apparent that we did not fit. We successfully concluded a management buy out from Murray & Roberts together with a specialist finance company "Mettle" on a 50/50 shareholding basis.

Involved in supplying cranes to all the contractors involved in the building of hostels, gold and uranium plants at Beatrix, Welkom, Free State Geduld, Merriespruit, President Brand and President Steyn Gold Mines
