Marta is an 20-year-old Portuguese robotics student who looks to robotics as a game-changer opportunity to impact billions and make the world a better place. “- I have a passion that keeps me excited - robotics, and a goal that keeps me on track, impact the world.”With a 10 year background of self-taugh robotics, marta has focused their work in conservation protecting, being today the youngest conservation roboticist explorer at National Geographic. It is worth to highlight SONDA, an autonomous buoy co-developed by her that eliminated noise pollution at marine protected areas enhancing fish fertility and conserving cetacean communication. They co-founded Trovador, a startup that is developing autonomous reforestation robots to enable reforestation from flat land to hazardous remote locations, recognized by National Geograpic, and nominated Leader in Sustainable Robotics by EURobotics.

Portuguese startup developing autonomous reforestation robots for hazardous, remote, and degraded locations. As CEO of Trovador, she co-leads the mission of restoring her home country’s forests and reviving native canopies around the world. Trovador has been recognized by National Geographic and was nominated as a Leader in Sustainable Robotics by euRobotics. - Designed and developed the first and second prototype of an outdoor tree-planting robot, from structural payload design, to full circuit design/testing for end-effectors, sensor feedback, and power management. - Co-deployed the second prototype in real environment, conducting KPI extraction, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, troubleshooting in the field, and applying testing methodologies for accurate data and performance analysis. - Led a cross-disciplinary team of 7 during a 3-month internship; collaborated with ForestWISE CoLAB on ecosystem analysis, organized technology demos across 3 continents, and raised from entities including Nat Geo.
