Ag Science degree provides training in economics and bus management principles related to production, distribution, and consumption of Ag goods and services. Gain skills in ag and horticulture science, landscape plants and gardening, soil and water conservation, botany, turf and pasture grass mgt, teaching Ag education, farm mgt, livestock judging, animal breeding, animal feeds and nutrition, markets. Degree courses include courses in soil fertility and fertilizers, turf mgt, agriculture chemicals, plant and animal science, soil and water conservation techniques, horticulture and landscape gardening, farm mgt, agri-business. Careers in extension, government agencies, commodity trading, communications, public relations, finance, marketing, sales, and agribusiness management, combine technical agriculture with Ag Education, Journalism, Communication. To prepare agricultural professionals to teach, lead, and serve by assessing needs, initiate, plan, administer and evaluate education programs. Effectively teach research based information and practical skills to empower communities to meet demands through education and outreach. Provide training support for teaching professionals who work with community based organizations such as Future Farmer’s of America and 4-H programs; support for extension professionals to develop programs for local communities and those involved in informing the public about the agricultural industry; provide leadership in multi faceted areas of agriculture.
