Developed the first-ever portable full-body CT scanner. Primary responsibilities were to conceive, design and test the drive system responsible for translation of the scanner. This subassembly is the novel technology separating the scanner from its competition. Served as lead engineer directing the activities of a multidisciplinary team to develop the next generation of the drive system. Used control theory to design and implement a control system and finite element analysis to verify the response of the mechanics. Acted as the technical lead during several field installations of the scanner. Interfaced with customers and partner companies to increase the usability of the scanner in real world applications. Worked as part of a team that prepared the scanner for government oversight approvals. Designed fixtures to streamline manufacturing and validation. Provided mechanical support to the electrical team by designing PCB layouts and fixtures. Wrote specifications and detailed drawings.

Developed and tested a point-of-care device that utilizes microfluidic technologies for capturing circulating tumor cells from peripheral blood of cancer patients. Gained experience in microfabrication techniques such as photolithography, the PDMS process and PDMS bonding. Primary objectives were to provide engineering support for a mass scale clinical trial of the CTC device, including experiment planning, running of experiments, data analysis, and design alteration. Other responsibilities include funds management, overseeing contracts with external vendors and manufacturers, managing a microscopy laboratory, and hiring of entry-level technical staff.

Project manager and lead engineer for the development of a portable CT scanner, identified by executive management as organization’s flagship product. Proposed project to executive leadership and wrote system level requirements. Created project plan, including scheduling, and assigned engineering resources. Responsible for vender management, project budget and leading a multidisciplinary team of 34 engineers. Previously lead the development of a state-of-the-art patient positioning CT table, released to market in 2015. Responsible for conceiving and implementing the design as well as managing the project. Personally invented a novel patient positioning mechanism, for which multiple patent applications have been filed (application number 15180995.1 – 1660). Identified as one of 14 critical employees during the sale of the company to Samsung.
