About
Moi: extravagant fashion designer/ fearless pattern cutter/ garment technologist / efficient entrepreneur/ ambitious trader - over 10 years of experience in Europe and Asia. Did foundation at Central Saint Martins (specializing in fashion journalism) and BA (tailoring major) at London College of Fashion. Spending my adolescence in the epicentres of all things edgy such as London's Soho and Shoreditch gave me an incredibly observant eye for detail and an excellent gut for feeling the next 'it'. The focus of my graduate collection in 2016 was sustainability and cyberpunk: dark dystopian silhouettes and melted bin bag textures with neon accents. I skilfully design the most ambitious silhouettes, find ways to finish any materials and cuts, come up with designs for most diverse target audiences. I find and establish contact with manufacturers, achieve compliance with deadlines and quality levels through diplomatic means. Fluent in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, actively mastering Clo3D and Marvelous Designer. I layout zines and look books, digitalize patterns, create specs and vector technical drawings. Maestro of professional correspondence in both Russian and English: press releases, invitations to events, pitches for buyers, newsletters, presentations. Bilingual in Russian and English, I also speak French and Ukrainian, currently learning Mandarin. I masterfully sell retail and wholesale, organize photoshoots and shows, present brands at expos and fashion weeks. Sustainability has been my mission for the past 7 years: I wrote my graduate dissertation on sustainable strategies for the fashion industry and has been involved ever since. I spread the mission via lectures, texts, activism, give interviews and consult companies on the sustainable approach to business and lifestyle. I also design for my brand called RAKSHAMASHA that specializes in hi-tech clothing and up-cycled plastic accessories. Managing both my career and my brand as well as other projects like my punk-jazz band and arts I can confidently say I am excellent at time management and handling huge workloads under pressure. Bonus: as a trained folk and opera vocalist I can sing at your party.

Experience

Founder and Creative Director
London, England, United Kingdom
We upcycle commercial and industrial use plastics into a range of concept accessories. The clothing line is developed with technologies used for specialist clothing like North sea survival suits and spacesuits. Throughout the years of my leadership we have managed to showcase at Paris Fashion week showrooms, participate in Berlin Fashion Week, Russian Fashion Week, arrange various catwalks and presentations in Moscow, London and Paris, opened up a corner in Kuala Lumpur and Moscow, get published in such renown magazines as Kaltblut, Cable, Huf (cover), Elle and Vogue Russia. This has been an invaluable up-to-date experience that enriched my overview of all the processes and techniques involved in the fashion industry. I skilfully design the most ambitious silhouettes, find ways to finish any materials and cuts, come up with designs for most diverse target audiences. I find and establish contact with manufacturers, achieve compliance with deadlines and quality levels through diplomatic means. Senior Designer
Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Working in a small team of luxury leather goods experts allowed me to learn a wide variety of leather treatments and techniques. As the junior designer I was also an assistant to the CEO in our creative team of two. My responsibilities were material research, design, pattern cutting, product development, creating CADs and tech packs, cutting and sewing as well as general studio assistance. I also organised the orders and the brand's events, wrote press releases and edited the look books.

Head Of Merchandising Concept Womenswear
Moscow, Russian Federation
As part of the creative merchandising team of the Moscow's analogue to Selfridges I was doing a lot of creative and administrative work: managing the collection flow and making sure the floor plans are always good looking and updated on time, liaising with the floor managers on the matters of stock, dressing the mannequins, laying out accessories and decorations. As part of the creative team I also took part in window design: coming up with concepts, creating prompts and looks for the mannequins.

Junior Designer
London, United Kingdom
Being a member of a big international company's design team I have learned a lot about different area of mass market such as production, distribution, marketing and a lot of liaising. My responsibilities included creating mood boards and fabric boards and presenting them to the head of design team, researching and hand picking vintage garments and the company's vast fabric and trimmings catalogues to create designs, making CAD drawings for production, liaising with the pattern cutters and technologists, product development and distribution.

Fashion Designer
Kinder Aggugini
London, United Kingdom
My experience in a luxury designer brand was very practical: I created various mood boards and fabric boards, also did a lot of draping and sampling, assisting with the photoshoots. I oversaw the creation of the collection all the way up to the fashion week where I was backstage working as a dresser for the brand.

Fashion Designer
London, United Kingdom
Working as Stephane Raynor's assistant in his studio in Brick Lane I was in charge of developing his new line called Sick Girl. I oversaw the garments from sketch to final sample which included research and design, pattern cutting and sampling. Working with Stephane gave me great understanding on how to assist a CEO: manage multiple tasks, remain flexible yet stick to firm deadlines. I was also in the Brick Lane shop a lot which gave the opportunity to see customers' response and get direct feedback.

Costume Designer
Andrey Bartenev
London, United Kingdom
Andrey Bartenev is the infamous Russian performance artists since the 80s very proactive and successfull, exhibiting at the Venice biennale and curating his own gallery, he is the winner of the 2018 Alternative Miss World contest. I was working in his studio during summers and in between my university study terms designing costumes and developing patterns and samples for his costume designs, assisting his performances in Moscow, London and other artistic capitals of the world. I also exhibited my BANZAi! collection in his gallery in 2018.

Visual Merchandiser
London, England, United Kingdom
As visual merchandiser I was mainly responsible for floor design and dressing the mannequins, updating the stock lists and keeping track of popular items. This was very valuable experience as I learnt how to identify the garments by the decade and the make, but also had a lot of direct contact with the customers and be very responsive to their feedback.
