As World Class Manufacturing Manager, I developed and led a program to change the culture of Magna Decostar division to become World Class in support of Magna’s corporate initiative. This position involved managing a team of 11 engineers and technicians in execution of lean manufacturing structure. I also identified and implemented projects to obtain $5M annual savings by the division. Additionally, I developed a 5S program with an audit system and rewards program, as well as conducted Lean events to streamline production. Key contributions included: Implemented employee suggestion program yielding $1.4M annual savings and providing employee recognition Developed and implemented onboard training activities to successfully reduce temporary turnover rate by 46% Conducted Kaizen events to educate employees in best practices, lean manufacturing, and generate cost savings Participated in annual WCM leadership events and performed Magna WCM audits on divisional progress

I served as a Project Manager / Sales Engineer for Brandt & Hill Engineering Inc., an engineering company dedicated to providing light automation solutions to manufacturing and distributions operations in the southwest United States. In this position, I provided design and project management to various customers for light automation, material handling systems, and conveyer implementations/controls design. I also designed and implemented multiple assembly line projects for Mort Topher Assembly Center for Dell Computers. Additionally, I identified areas of opportunity and implemented best practices and strategies for efficiency and process improvement.

While working with Pentamaster USA, I served as a Project Manager / Sales Engineer responsible for managing multiple large scale automated distribution systems and equipment projects internationals and domestically. This position included designing layout, providing quotations, performing program management, and directing onsite supervision for installation of a kitting line for Dell Computer Corp’s high-speed distribution center in Nashville. I provided program management and supervision for installation of a new server assembly line for Dell Computers in Ireland. Additionally, I delivered design layout, supervision, and program management for new hybrid assemble line for Dell Computers

I currently serve as a Production Launch Manager leading a team responsible for developing processes to assemble and sequence products for execution of BMW X3 and X5 contracts on behalf of Magna. In this role, I direct a team to develop the assembly process, specify and purchase secondary equipment, prepare plant layout, perform line balance, head count analysis, capacity modeling, warehouse management sizing and implementation. In addition, I coordinate and interface directly with BMW senior management to execute run at rate for factory acceptance, evaluate and provide reasons and solutions for quality escapes, and quote new business opportunities with BMW. Key contributions: Manages engineers and technicians to support production launch activities, quality containment, and production support Directed green field site start-up for Magna Decostar in Greenville, SC including managing $12M in capital expenditures Identified, budgeted, and purchased $12M in capital equipment for production operations with focus on cost control

I served as a Senior Industrial Engineer responsible for developing and implementing projects to promote Lean manufacturing in support of Magna’s World Class Manufacturing corporate initiative. This position included performing process evaluations to determine best payout, manpower, and equipment to achieve the lowest cost, best quality solution for particular product line. I also led and developed engineers, technicians, and team members in Kaizen events. In addition, I maintained a capacity planning model for the division, used to determine staffing, new equipment purchases, and aid in quotations. Key contributions included: Led production start-up for sacrificial panel for Ford Focus; established U-shape cell build concept with 10 operators Utilized “card board city” concept to test variations of the build line with actual line employees prior to implementation Implemented numerous cost savings project and initiatives, saving an average $1.5M per year based on personal results
