* Led and organized a team to negotiate OBD and SIR rule development with industry and government agencies. Industry agencies included EMA, Auto Alliance, ACEA, and OICA. Government bodies included US EPA, US CARB, EU, ECE, KMOE, and GRPE. * Worked closely with Product Environmental Management (PEM). * Involved with industry diagnostic and serial communications standards development for the heavy-duty industry (automotive, non-road, stationary, agriculture, construction, marine, etc.). * Developed and managed a portion of Cummins requirements standards for datalinks and diagnostics. * Instrumental in the datalink standards J1708, J1587, J1922, J1939, and J2403. * Delivered Cummins Application Engineering Bulletins relative to Serial Communications Control and Diagnostics Datalinks.

* Developed OBD II for the Cummins engine going into the Dodge Ram pickup. * Researched different diagnostic concepts for determining loss of power per cylinder in high horsepower engines (16 cylinder 50 liter engine). * Certified first diesel OBD II engine for Cummins for January 1997 production. * Represented Cummins in industry standard forums for on-vehicle serial communications. First J1939 documents were released as well as the first ISO 11783 parts that were completed to align with J1939. J1587, J1708, and J1922 were standards that were also still being maintained.
