Founded in Bermuda in 2000 as a subsidiary of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., Japan's oldest and one of its largest non-life insurance companies, Tokio Millennium Re AG (TMR) operates with a deep commitment to underwriting discipline and scientific analysis of risk, aligned with a strong balance sheet and close relationships with our clients.In the early years, backed by and leveraging our parent company's financial strength, TMR focused on strengthening worldwide reinsurance capacity by providing catastrophe risk coverage for insurance and reinsurance companies through traditional reinsurance and innovative alternative risk transfer products.Building on a strong foundation, the Company has been diversifying its business through broader product offerings and geographical expansion. TMR established operations in Switzerland in 2010, Australia in 2011, the US in 2014 and the UK in 2015 to gain greater access to these regional reinsurance markets. In October 2013, TMR redomiciled to Switzerland converting the Bermuda operation into a branch.
