I am a Chartered Accountant (South Africa), registered since 2018, having completed by SAICA Articles at BDO in 2017. In 2025 I qualified and registered as a Registered Auditor with the IRBA in South Africa as non-assurance. Since 2023 I have been working in the Audit Technical department of the Firm. The experience includes: 1. General responsibilities: - Review of engagement letters - Reviewing and providing insight on technical consultations and enquiries in terms of the auditing standards 2. Audit software updates: - I am one of 3 members who are responsible for leading the testing of the updates on the auditing software 3. Audit Technical Training to the firm from Trainees to Senior Staff: - Providing, preparing and reviewing audit technical training 4. Audit working papers: - Development of audit working papers for firm use 5. Small audits Steering committee and project: - This project envisions an environment for our small audit market segment where audits can be performed in an efficient manner, still keeping good audit quality. 6. Audit Technical Advisor - Trainee training: - Review Trainee training material - Provide Audit Technical insights into the Trainee training My audit-experience including the one audit kept since 2023-2025, has been focused on in audits of Medical aids and Construction entities, amongst other entities. The experience on the various audits, my interest in developing the auditors of tomorrow, and making a difference in how we audit and apply the auditing standards is beneficial in my role as Senior Manager: Audit technical standards and future assurance and non-assurance roles.
