I am a young researcher in the African Tax Institute. My educational background is both in tax law and public finance and my current research is primarily in public finance. I hold an interdisciplinary PhD in Tax Policy from the University of Pretoria. My main area of research is indirect taxation, although I am also conducting research on heterodox economics and taxation. Recent publications includes "Zero rating versus direct cash transfers under the VAT" (Fiscal Studies) and "VAT effort" (eJournal of Tax Research). I am interested in collaborating with other researchers and also contract work on VAT policy, especially in developing countries.
