* The student intern will assist detectives in preparing ABC and Firearms applications, canvassing and interviewing witnesses and researching for criminal cases. He/she will assist the Detective Sergeant in the review of police investigative reports, the preparation of media press releases and assist in the preparation and submitter of grand jury reports. He/she will assist the Patrol Lieutenant tracking and analyzing officer and productivity. * Aid Detectives and other Police Personal with Administrative Tasks incidental to office activities. * Review and learn the (CAD) Computer Aided Dispatch system. (Used by several police departments to generate reports and assist with record keeping.) * If another language is spoken, possibly provide translation to officers and or citizens. * Assist with administrative duties in the Police Record Room. * Will assist copying video evidence used for Police records. * Assessing diversified and confidential information. * Observing the daily operations of different aspects of the police department. * Abiding by a confidentiality agreement.
