* In addition to performing duties of Copy Editor: * Ensure pagination and AP Style guidelines are adhered to and deadlines are met. * Manage employees of the Copy Desk, including scheduling, conducting annual performance reviews, and providing feedback as needed. * Manage and maintain templates and graphic elements utilized by the Copy Desk in pagination. * Communicate with other departments and supervisors in maintaining workflow. * Serve as communication liaison between in-house staff and outside vendors. * Fill in for News Editor as needed by using news judgement to assist Managing Editor with story selection and placement on the front page, as well as providing direction and assistance to reporters.

Some of these include: Bingham Memorial Hospital, Blackfoot, ID — Worked closely with the Creative Director to design and create items consistent with corporate identity and brand standards. These include, but are not limited to flyers, special event displays, digital promotional materials and forms. Dynacraft BSC, Inc., American Canyon, CA — Created original vector logos and designs for mass-market bicycles before applying the designs to template mechanicals for production. Citizens National Bank, Meyersdale, PA — Designed seasonal promotions advertisements, annual report booklets, and brochures to promote banking services. Updated branding to be utilized throughout the company and developed visual guidelines for future communications.

Recording and managing equipment inventory including maintaining inventory spreadsheet and photo log, along with storage rooms and work spaces.

* Collaborate with the Editorial team to gather stories from reporters, contributors, and press releases. * Edit copy for clarity and accuracy while adhering to AP Style and in-house guidelines. * Write compelling and informative headlines and supporting content. * Compose and lay out content of newspaper pages for print publication using Adobe InDesign. * Design and create graphic elements to enhance copy and engage readers. * Working under a strict nightly deadline, proofread finished pages and prepare files for press. * Grow digital readership by assisting in creating timely and relevant web content. * Distribute stories across digital platforms, including to the newspaper's website via a CMS. * Ensure content and press plates are correct and free of errors. * Served as an associate project manager during software conversion to InDesign and CMS upgrade. * Assisted with training and coaching colleagues during software transition. * In the absence of an in-house IT technician, serve as technical support.

Print production duties included file preparation and proofing from external vendors to ensure accurate and timely print deliverables.

* Contract position to assist in software conversion to electronic medical records (EMR). * Worked with the Medical Records Supervisor to develop a naming convention as well as an operational procedure within the EMR program. * Worked with medical and administrative staff to digitize paper records and organize them into the new system. * Trained new employees to use the software, and served as program troubleshooter.
