● Responsible for testing of drug product via ELISA, Western blotting, cell proliferation assay, and other techniques including pH testing, osmolality, and conductivity. Also responsible for reagent preparation, culture and passage of a leukocyte cell line, receiving and stocking laboratory supplies, maintenance of lab equipment, and knowledge of and adherence to cGMPs.

Testing of various food commodities for bacterial pathogens—mainly Salmonella spp., L. monocytogenes, E.coli, S. aureus, and E. coli O157:H7. Techniques include screening with VIDAS (immunofluorescent detection system), PCR, selective enrichment and plating, performing various biochemical tests, and identification of pathogens using API20 and/or VITEK systems. Selected for participation in a high-throughput laboratory project, a collaborative study with AOAC for SX2-T broth performance validation, and a multi-laboratory validation study using the Pathatrix to isolate E. coli O157:H7 from produce Monitor for laboratory water activity equipment and TEMPO® system for rapid enumeration of S. aureus and E. coli. Responsibilities include calibration of equipment, training laboratory analysts in proper use of the equipment, troubleshooting problems, writing SOPs for proper use of equipment, and ensuring all documentation is up to current QMS standards Trained in cGMPs for dietary supplement manufacturing
