Tutored incarcerated students in all subjects and worked towards earning a GED. During my time at Glenn Dyer, I enjoyed making it my mission to motivate my students and to increase their academic and personal confidence. Worked towards increasing literacy rates within the Glenn Dyer jail population and equip incarcerated students with essential life skills such as resume and job application writing.

Conducted research on Nazi genocide, crimes against humanity, and World War II war-crime trials using microfilm and survey-methods

* Cared for the needs of orphans 0-2 years old who lost their families due to disease or poverty and provided medical assistance for children suffering from HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other illnesses * Worked towards achieving the center’s mission to increase orphans’ survival by providing a safe and protected environment away from the streets of Dar es Salaam * Educated extended family or clan members about childcare to potentially reintegrate children into households

* Conducted research on human rights cases and translated legal documents from German into English * Assisted in coordinating annual event fundraiser and created PowerPoint presentations * Aided in organizing community outreach event at the annual walk against genocide in Oakland * Effectively maintained and updated office files

* Taught English and other subjects at a KGBV Boarding School for impoverished female youth who dropped out of school at a young age due to family hardships * Increased literacy rates among students whose ages ranged from 11-17 * Initiated and conducted research interviews with students’ families to assess the impact of government sponsored initiatives on reducing the incidence of child labor in rural India * Lead the protest of over 4000 women at the International women's day as well as having the honor to be a public speaker for the event to promote and advocate for the rights of women * Assisted rural women in creating self-help projects

* Worked towards the non-profit center’s mission of providing civil rights services to disadvantaged members of the community through fair housing advocacy, hate crimes prevention and migrant education programs * Empowered migrant workers to seek access to education, health-care, legal representation, and fair housing * Monitored and raised awareness about health conditions in migrant labor camps in San Diego County * Researched funding options and grants and wrote newsletters and press releases for the center
