About
My commitment to social justice is transformed, via photography, into tangible objects. A person who chooses to be photographed, offers me the chance to bear witness to a moment of their life. In chronicling the struggles and triumphs that are written into eyes, postures, clothing and gestures, I aim to depict the full humanity of everyone I encounter, offering all of us that moment of contemplation, intimacy and connection with each other. Photography, multimedia installations and critical writing are the platforms through which I have developed hard and soft skills related to the art world: • Research • Writing • Presenting • Preparing proposals and applications • Attentiveness to details • Managing deadlines and budgets • Relating to people from different walks of life My current goal is to move to the next logical stage of my journey - curatorial work. If I’m not behind my camera, you can find me cycling along the Empire State Trail or across the hills of Jamaica; swimming in the Gulf of Paria, or hiking through the Andes. Meanwhile, I pursue my fascination with the manmade world through my voracious appetite for books; and hours spent strolling through city streets; and contemplating the art that I encounter in public and private spaces.

Photographer/ Entrepreneur
Trinidad and Tobago
Between my return to Trinidad and Tobago in 2005, and my departure to the United States in 2009, I founded and ran a successful commercial photography business. Upon my return to my homeland, my passion grew into an obsession and eventually a secondary source of income. In June 2007, I launched my business to the public via a solo show at the National Museum of Trinidad and Tobago and became a full-time, creative entrepreneur. Key responsibilities and achievements: • Coordinated nationwide publicity campaign and solo exhibitions. • Developed client acquisition and client negotiation skills • Built and managed a client database • Built and managed a growing photography database and began the process of data redundancy • Recruited and supervised secondary photographers and assistants • Collaborated with organizations and publications including the Fifth Summit of the Americas, Bmobile, Caribbean Airlines, Unit Trust Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago, Sagicor, Network of Non-Governmental Organizations for the Advancement of Women in Trinidad and Tobago, Tourism Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago; Collier, Morrison, Belgrave Limited, MEP Publishers, Trinidad Express, Trinidad Guardian, Newsday, Afrikan Option Magazine, Synergy TV.
