As a postdoctoral fellow my work focused on synthetic biology tools and point of care low cost diagnostics. My work projects involved: - CRISPR based technologies - Development of smart probiotics - Management of applied international projects More precisely: - A novel CRISPR platform to tag and track any type of products (patent filed) - A large collaborative project involving 6 laboratories to develop a synthetic probiotic able to: sense the inflammation during an IBD flair, secrete anti-inflammatory molecules and secrete pro-regenerative molecules to repair the gut - A large international collaboration for an infectious disease diagnostic field trial in Latin America: Our lab developed an open source portable diagnostic device that we tested in three different countries. - Leading the wet laboratory effort - Provide day-to-day laboratory supervision, help with experimental settings and implementation, interpretation of results and decisions on next steps. - Supervising 2 technicians in the laboratory - Mentoring 5 students in the laboratory (undergraduates and graduates)

During my PhD I worked to understand how a mosquito can transmit a dangerous human virus but survive (Dengue, Zika, ChikV for exemple). We know that the antiviral immune system of the mosquito is involved, this is why I focused on a key specific protein of this system.
