Provide in home respite care for parents and families to support their needs. I implement strategies to help teens regulate their physical and emotional behaviors to relieve stress and to focus on tasks at hand. I connect and consult with families and parents on applying interventions/strategies to decrease negative unwanted behaviors.

My professional background consists of working with teens who are diagnosed with developmental or intellectual disabilities (e.g. Autism, ADHD, or Down Syndrome). I provided one on one ABA therapy sessions that focus on applying interventions based on scientific evidence to ensure their success. I collected, entered, and tracked data based on the sessions to monitor any patterns in their progress of learning in regards to social or academic skills.

Alongside three other fellow peers and under the guidance of Dr. Jennifer Pedrotti, we designed and developed a peer-mentoring program for underrepresented students (Underrepresented Student Network). This program was established and implemented into the college to support and advocate for underrepresented college students. Contributed in helping develop the interview process, holding interviews, designed the training's for new mentors regarding policies and procedures that the program requires we follow. Each mentor was assigned 1-3 mentees where we would be supporting their college journey by helping them explore clubs, organizations, financial and academic resources, and safe spaces around the campus, etc.

Investigated the under-representation that women face in STEM fields and underlying issues they currently face. Interning with, Dr. Julie Garcia, I got hands on experience in learning skills such as: excel worksheet, SPSS, data entry, cleaning data, and qualtrics. Furthermore, the primary focus of the internship was then based on researching how perceived lay theories of intelligence (incremental vs. entity theory) and how a sense of belonging affects a students academic performance in STEM. Our results indicated that having a sense of belonging is highly correlated with a high GPA. As a team of research assistants, we presented our research and findings at the Spartan Psychological Association Research Conference (SPARC) at San Jose State University, CA.

In this committee, we embrace and advocate for diversity and inclusivity by creating a welcoming and inviting campus. With other fellow peers, we initiated and planned programs that could advance our visions and goals on campus of diversity and inclusivity. Assisted in identifying needs and creating new opportunities to increase multicultural competence with students, faculty, and staff. Held the "First Annual Celebration of Diversity and Inclusivity" at Cal Poly (2017).

Supporting and advocating for all individuals of all genders and sexuality by being involved in critical dialogue and community building. Participated in events that engaged in critical thinking, intersectionality, diversity, equity, and connecting with communities. Provided campus resources and upcoming services to create opportunities for students.

I am an Academic Success Coach for the NCC Zoom program at Cuesta College North County Campus. I consult and provide resources for many diverse students who are first generation college students, DACA students, low socio-economic status and other marginalized groups. I support their transition from high school to college by changing their habits, motivation, and enhancing their study skills. I collaborate with coordinators, enrollment specialists, mental health therapist, and professors to support and provide effective educational services.
