About

Hi! My name is Marco Vink, born on 22 June 1992 in the Netherlands. In my professional career I have acquired knowledge of all aspects of product development, from idea to production. I am not afraid to push boundaries and I stand out in my understanding of materials and overall knowledge of product design and mechanical engineering. I can work both on my own and as part of a team. I am not bound by a 9-5 mentality and I am always up for a challenge. With a near obsessive interest in materials, details, technology and craftsmanship, I always aim for products of the highest quality. Every detail of the product development process is carefully examined to ensure that the final product inspires that sense of wonder. Interested in my work? Send an email to info@marco-vink.nl, then I will contact you as soon as possible.

The Ceiling Mounted Cam Fan is still on display in the exhibition Escape - Embracing the freedom of beauty - at the Kazerne Eindhoven till the end of May. I did my graduation internship at Atelier Rick Tegelaar and here I fully developed the functional view model of the Cam Fan into a market-ready product line that is also produced and exhibited during the Dutch Design Week 2016. Mission: The functional view model of the Cam Fan must be concretized and optimized, in such a way that the various problems no longer occur. Next, a prototype line may be formed, consisting of several variants. This prototype line must be technically and mechanically optimally produced, with a high quality and maximum functionality, where the branding emerges stronger, the aesthetic quality’s remains and also meets the requirements of the affluent consumers and those of the hospitality industry. The goal is that the Cam Fan in a poetic and hypnotic way the mechanical principle of the camshaft expresses and let people wonder again. For more information about the product line and/or price list head to: www.ricktegelaar.nl Rick Tegelaar: Rick Tegelaar (Rotterdam, 1986) graduated with honours from the ArtEZ Arnhem product design department in 2011. Since then he works independently from his studio and workshop in Arnhem. Rick Tegelaar likes to work with undervalued materials such as wire mesh and waste wood. By re-examining these materials, new applications of the materials arise. The challenge lies in finding new forms, qualities and aesthetics as opposed to those with which we are all too familiar.

Craftworks is a company known for being at the forefront of new product development. Mostly, they provide the food and agricultural sector with useful solutions. It’s safe to say pretty much anyone has used one of their products at some point in their lives. In fact most big name companies currently use Craftworks techniques in at least some of their products, whether it’s vending machines or, for example, milkshake machines. Craftworks specialize in developing in-house built working prototypes of high quality, which are ready to be used in market testing. They have several big clients, such as: The Coca-Cola Company Jacobs Douwe Egberts Friesland Campina Heineken Danone

Minor - Art of Reproducing

2015 - 2016 · 1 yr

The minor - Art of Reproducing - will teach you everything about product design and the affecting variables. By taking the design of a simple, archetypal/iconic product such as a scissor or a corkscrew in a variety of configurations, you learn to make important design decisions. The cost price and lot size shall be construed as main parameters and are used to generate different concepts. Designing such a simple and well-known product in an increasingly different configuration is challenging and leads to inventive and creative designs. You become more aware of material usage, volume and positioning in combination with other variables of shape and design. You learn to switch within the range of variables that affect the creation of a product.

Studying Mechanical Engineering at TU Delft I experienced as very instructive. But I learned a lot about myself, because I love technique but i'm rather behind the drawing board.
