Marco Perez

Marco Perez is an Swiss-Italian-American Film Editor. He was born in Rome, attended the Rome Swiss School, and majored in classical studies. After obtaining the national fellowship for film studies, Marco attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. At the end of his studies, he moved to Milan and began working as a film editor. A move to Paris followed three years later. Marco now lives between Los Angeles, New York, and his hometown Rome. He edits all around the world. Marco had edited for the world’s best commercial and feature film directors such as Wim Wenders, James Grey, Spike Lee, Craig Gillespie, Floria Sigismondi, Wally Pfister, Ellen Kuras, Michael Hausmann, Joel Schumacher, and many others. Marco has edited award-winning narrative and documentary feature films and many award-winning independent short films. Marco’s credits as a feature film editor include: "In the Fire" starring Amber Heard and Eduardo Noriega, directed by Conor Allyn. “Rajah” starring Johnathan Rhys Meyers and directed by Michael Haussman “A Beautiful Curse” the award-winning feature film debut of director Martin Garde Albigaard “The Sounding” directed by Catherine Eaton “Uncertain” a documentary feature film, winner of the Albert Maysles Award at the Tribeca Film Festival. In 2021, Marco won best film Editing both at the Paris International Film Festival and River Run Film Festival for his work on “A Beautiful Curse”. Marco’s work has been featured in all the major film festivals: Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Sundance, SxSW, Tribeca, and many others. Marco also loves working with visual artists. Marco edited “RPM” for Marco Brambilla, “Gravity” for Michael Haussman, and “La Ballerina Blu” for Mario Greco. Marco balances editing with writing. He co-wrote the screenplay “Ferdinandea” with Luca Maroni and Suzanne Reyenke based on a Wu Ming’s story idea. “Ferdinandea” won the national prize from the Italian Ministry of Arts and Culture for best screenplay. He’s currently developing two TV shows with his co-writer Giulia Steigerwalt for DDLC - Dino De Laurentis Company. The short film “Cose che facciamo per Amore - Things we do for Love”, was Marco’s directorial debut. It was highly commended by the jury at the 51st London Film Festival – TMC Classic Shorts.
