I believe that to be good at what you do, you have to have passion for it. Programming is a vocation, it cannot be just a job. I have been working as a User Interface Developer for few years now, and the most important thing for me is to work with passionate people. The biggest value is the knowledge that I can get from others. I know the principles of accessibility, separation of concerns and progressive enhancement. I always ensure my code is clean and valid. Those are the foundations of a proper front-end. I am competent using Linux / Mac console as well and I have experience with server side development (Node, PHP, MYSQL, and little bit of Java). I am excited about and try to embrace new technologies coming out all the time. In my opinion, javascript (with HTML5 and CSS3) is going to play a major part in the future of web, mobile and desktop development.
