About

As a former financial journalist, I have more than 20 years of experience covering cryptocurrency, banking, fintech, residential mortgages, credit cards, capital markets, commercial real estate and regulation. I write in a breezy yet sophisticated style honed over decades in a diverse range of media (wire service, newspaper, magazines, websites, email newsletters, social media and blogs). I am known as an astute editor with a keen ability to zero in on the precise angle a piece should take. I shaped stories that moved the conversational needle, including some of the earliest serious mainstream coverage of bitcoin. I have mentored and managed teams of writers as small as two and as large as 50. I inspire them to dig deep, think hard and write their hearts out. I'm also a charismatic moderator and emcee at industry conferences, with experience programming a large-scale (10,000+ attendee) event for two years. I've interviewed high-profile guests onstage such as Edward Snowden (who participated remotely), Chelsea Manning and senior financial and tech executives.
