I was involved primarily with literature reviews, experimental design, survey design, data collection, and analysis. I worked on the Personnel Survey assisting primarily with quality control and data entry on surveys to help implement projects for the advancement of military family policy. This included research and analysis of military family trends to help implement effective programs for military families.

Meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal - For leadership displayed in duties, responsibilities and commanding troops in field-training exercises. Sea Service Deployment Ribbon - Active duty deployment service to secure international interests and borders of the United States of America as part of a battalion mission. Meritorious Unit Commendation was awarded due to the display of exceptional meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service, heroic deeds, or valorous actions. Good Conduct Medal for “honorable and faithful service”. Honorably Discharged

Served as the Chief Housing Administrator for the Department of Residence Life, provided leadership and direction to a staff of 200, nine residence halls with 14 buildings, and housing 4,500 students. Managed an operating budget of $7 million with a revenue generation of over $30 million dollars. Effectively planned and directed all aspects of University owned and operated residence halls as it pertains to the budget, physical facilities, policies and educational programming. (BISON SUCCESS, Scholar Connection, Affinity Housing for freshmen retention, etc.) Assisted in the development, planning, designing and investment consultation aspects of an approximately $107 million residence hall development project. Coordinated the creation of two new residential facilities, which integrated underclassmen in a (freshmen and sophomore) residential neighborhood near the core of campus.

Supervised (directly and indirectly) more than 250 personnel comprised of professional, paraprofessional, administrative and student staff; developed all pre-service and in-service training to include selection of topics, presenters and preparations of materials and schedules. Directed the Office of Residence Life Leadership Institute, which I initiated as the primary vehicle for all staff and student leadership development and training. Conducted Personality Leadership Assessments and other leadership training initiatives. Led a strategic planning committee with the professional staff in Residence Life to develop the department into a model of “student development” through the implementation of student engagement programs.

Described the major theoretical perspectives presented in all psychology courses * explained the psychological and developmental growth and changes in individuals from a behavioral, cognitive, psychoanalytic and socio-cultural perspective. Examined the role of culture as it influences development, perception, thinking and behavior in all courses referenced.

Directed and supervised the daily activities associated with the operation of a residence hall within the student housing system. Prepared and submitted occupancy, judicial, annual and other reports associated with the operation of the residence hall. Provided leadership and direction for the operation and management of a residence hall, designed to develop and maintain a residential environment, which promotes educational practices supportive of the academic missions of the university. Planned, organized and developed programs and activities designed to stimulate and promote educational practices that broaden and enrich the social, educational, and cultural growth of the residents. Graduate Assistant responsible for program development of Resident Assistants, development of leadership training modules. Served as the Assistant Manager for the Community Director in several residence halls within the University Housing System. Worked with all populations of students male and female, freshmen through graduate students. Created a monthly speaking series that was designed to motivate and inspire the residents, "MAN TALK". Presented such topics as the history of Dr. Charles R. Drew’s life, Manhood, Service, Scholarship and the necessity of academic pursuits for community Uplift.
