Handling $4M(Appox.) spend across major commodities like custom machining, Molding, diecasting’s, plating service, cold forgings, stamping and wire forming parts Responsible for identification, assessment, qualifying & selection of suppliers for machining, casting & forging and plating category. Responsible for Sourcing of commodities for connectors for harsh environment. Review of request for sourcing of components from project and engineering teams and provide the feasibility. Preparing and sending RFQ packages to supplier for quotation. Prepare quotation comparison summary for short listing best quote. Prepare costing model for machined parts based on first principle. Involve in part price negotiations with supplier and take final decision along with sourcing manager. Study the component/assembly drawing, involve in technical discussion with suppliers and internal engineering/project team. Early involvement with supplier for part development at supplier place to avoid delays. Verify and validate supplier FA inspection (PPAP) documents and assist the internal quality team to submit FA inspection (PPAP) documents to end customers. Project/part handover to procurement team for regular purchase thru project handover note after monitoring for 3 lots for any performance issues. Prepare and publish monthly updates on KPIs Perform quarterly spend analysis and supplier risk analysis with CFT. Perform quarterly business review with supplier to provide the feedback on supplier performance. Ensuring On Time Delivery of parts, in order to meet production requirements. Performs and supports Quality team in supplier quality system assessments and process audits in order to assess compliance to defined requirements. Respond with a high sense of urgency to quality & delivery issues and escalate

 Supporting global sourcing Value Added & Value Engineering programs like Price Benchmarking, Standardization of parts, Fastener consolidation and internal assembly teardown on E&M (Electro-mechanical) components/assemblies across GE by taking the high spend parts/components.  Responsible for commodity analysis, supplier consolidation, SKU reduction and price saving by doing commodity standardization on E&M (Electro-mechanical) components across GE.  Work with global commodity team leads to identify the savings opportunity for sourced F&M (Fabricated & Machined) and E&M (Electromechanical).  Interact with strategic technological leader to decide the strategy on commodity variety reduction.  Study the component/assembly drawing, PSP’s, Datasheets and estimates the cost by using GE costing tools.  Suggesting the alternate manufacturer’s parts by matching the specifications.  Component End of Life (EOL), Availability, Lead-time and Pricing.  Preparing costed Bill of Materials.  Sending RFQ to the low cost region supplier and get the quotations.  Compare quotations with estimated cost and current buying price, highlight the saving opportunity identified to global sourcing leaders.  Attending the conference call to give updates for the weekly review of supplier performance.  Process planning for manufactured (Fabricated & Machining) components using DFMA (BDI Tool).  Preparing the costing models for manufactured (Fabricated & Machining) components using DFMA (BDI Tool) that helped the sourcing leaders to negotiate and achieved many million $’s savings.

 Creating the monthly External Work In Progress reports and comparing them with the production planning reports and help the planning team to know clearly the component incoming date and plan accordingly.  Continuously monitoring the status of work in process at supplier end so that the delivery periods are met well within the time frame.  Make sure that the right amount of raw material is going to the suppliers.  Vendor rating based on the criteria’s (utilization of given raw materials, meeting delivery time and quality).  Conducted vendor meeting at Fouress.  Providing machining related solutions/ideas to suppliers.  To control Overall Vendor activity including selection, Price negotiations & payments.  Ask for Quotations, Selection of suitable Vendors/suppliers depending on the requirement, raising purchase orders, taking feedbacks of the progress etc., was a challenging task.
