Manuel Montes de Oca

Manuel Montes de Oca is Co-Founder and Engineering Director of Supra Networks, a company founded in 2012 with focus on cybersecurity, networking and infrastructure for the corporate sector. In charge of operational management, Montes de Oca leads deployment of projects and services, as well as overall company operations. Prior Supra, Montes de Oca worked at the engineering team at Celtro, implementing backhaul optimization projects for the main mobile operators in Latin America. In the field of cyber defense, he has specialized in perimeter security, obtaining certifications from the main vendors: Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5 and Hillstone. Currently, he develops observability, SIEM, and threat hunting projects on Elastic Stack incorporating the Mitre Att&ck framework. He is interested in machine learning initiatives (anomaly detection and NLP) in SIEM, UEBA, and NTA platforms, for behavior-based analysis and event correlation, and its impact on Blue Team, Red Team and Purple Team. Since 2018, he's also been a professor of the university extension course in Data Network Security of the peruvian organization OSIPTEL. Telecommunications Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya , Montes de Oca also has degrees in Business Administration and Data Science for Business.
